Rajah Brooke Cafe @ Kuchai Entrepreneur's Park, Kuala Lumpur

One may come to realise that it can be very difficult to find authentic Sarawak food in Klang Valley. Hence, Rajah Brooke Cafe, which is located in Kuchai Entrepreneur's Park, Kuala Lumpur, is such a rare breed.


This Sarawakian eatery is named after James Brooke, the White Rajah of Sarawak who ruled from 1841 to 1868. A potrait of James Brooke formed the backdrop of the restaurant.


The Cafe is run by Sarawakian, including the waiters and waitresses. They pride themselves in bringing you a variety of food and drinks that are uniquely Sarawak.


My friend ordered Sarawak “3-Layers-Iced-Tea” @ RM3.80. Compared to the normal "3-Layers-Iced-Tea" found in Peninsular Malaysia, this Sarawak “3-Layers-Iced-Tea” is sweetened by palm sugar and wheat grass rather than white sugar.

It taste pretty smooth and nice. However, i feel that the milk was a little bit too much. Maybe it just doesn't really suit my taste buds.


I ordered Sugar Cane with Chestnut Drink @ RM3.50. It is a mixture of Sugar Cane and Chestnut. Nothing to shout about. It taste just alright to me and i find it pretty sweet.


Both of us ordered Sarawak Kolo Mee @ RM6.90. This is Kuching, Sarawak specialties. It was mixed with home-made Char Siew sauce and served with Char Siew, minced pork and vegetables. This dish comes with a complimentary soup as well.

We chose Sarawak noodles ("kiu mein") and it was pretty springy. The Char Siew sauce, which is the essence of Kolo Mee, taste deliciously flavourful. However, we find that the portion was a tad too small. This is their signature dish and is definitely worth trying.
