Old Friend Hong Kong Dim Sum Restaurant @ Bandar Puteri, Puchong

Went to Old Friend Hong Kong Dim Sum Restaurant last Saturday. It is located on the row of shophouses opposite Puteri Mart in Bandar Puteri, Puchong.

The restaurant is nicely renovated, with a lot of Chinese art decoration on the wall. Chinese oldies were being played from the radio. Very nostalgic.

Clockwise: Pai Guat, Wan Tan Shrimp Roll, Siew Mai and Har Gau.

Pai Guat : Unlike most of the Dim Sum restaurant which uses pork meat, this restaurant uses spare ribs, which seems more authentic to me. It was not spicy and taste very nice. A bit salty though.

Wan Tan Shrimp Roll : It looks very special because wan tan noodles were used to wrap around the shrimp to form a small bundles. However, it taste average.

Siew Mai : It was cruncy and sweet, but a bit dry.

Har Gau : The prawn was fresh, but a bit dry as well.

Woo Kok : It was juicy and taste very nice.

Loh Mai Gai : It was just average, nothing to shout about.

The Dim Sum costs me around RM21.00 (excluding drinks), a bit on the pricy side.

Bread and Crumbs...

Later, i went to Les Toasts Bakery in Puchong Jaya. They sold a variety of unique bread such as Yeast Free Bread, Bamboo Charcoal Bread, Takana Marble Bread, Squid Ink Baguette and Japanese Chiffon Cake. I bought Bamboo Charcoal Bread and Polo Fruit Bun. Paid RM7.10. Quite expensive for 2 bread.

Bamboo Charcoal Bread @ RM5.00 per loaf.

Polo Fruit Bun @ RM2.10.

The Bamboo Charcoal Bread taste quite nice, not as bad as i thought, although the look is not that appealing. The Polo Fruit Bun is very, very nice. Soft and sweet!
