I had Dim Sum for breakfast again last Sunday. Went to World of Dim Sum Restaurant in Sri Petaling. The restaurant is located on the same row as Clan Restaurant.
I once read a food review of this restaurant in a Chinese newspaper quite some time ago. The comments given were very good. That is why i have been thinking of going there since then.
However, i am a bit disappointed. It turned out that the Dim Sum were not as good as they claimed it to be. Furthermore, the size and portion of the Dim Sum were quite small. The Dim Sum costs me around RM16.00.
Pai Guat : Too spicy...
Siu Mai : Too salty...
Woo Kok : So-so only...
Har Kau
The Har Kau were "arranged" in such an unappealing way. Looks like they were being thrown into the steam basket. I used the word "thrown" as i was reminded of the way the Har Kau was served to us - by (gently) throwing the steam basket at our table.
The prawn were not fresh. Har Kau's main selling factor is fresh prawn and when that is not there, it is a deal killer.
Loh Mai Gai
The Loh Mai Gai is the highlight of the meal. It was so dry! I think it was half-cooked because part of the glutinous rice is still hard!
Well... this is what happened when one pick a "big" name for a restaurant. World of Dim Sum is indeed a pretty big claim. In conclusion, there is still a long way to go in order to become the real World of Dim Sum.
