It's been quite awhile since i last went out for movie. Went to watch Watchmen at Cathay Cineplex Cineleisure Damansara, Mutiara Damansara. The concept of Cineleisure Damansara reminds me of Cathay Cineleisure in Orchard Road, Singapore whereby it is designed to appeal to the youth generation.
Watchmen is set in an alternate 1985 America in which costumed superheroes are part of the fabric of everyday society, and the Doomsday Clock -- which charts the USA's tension with the Soviet Union -- moves closer to midnight. Watchmen have successfully brings the sophisticated superhero into the age of moral relativism.
The Director, Zack Snyder has managed to pull off some beautiful fight scenes. The fight scenes and special effects are as good as they come. It's a film with good quality CG effects for the most part.
While the music was good, some of them were way out of place. Felt like the music in so many scenes does the exact opposite of what it is supposed to.
The art of violence is indeed graphically impressive. However, it's simply too dark for people to accept. This is definitely a movie intended for adults.
