Strangely Coloured Murals

Colourful murals were painted in Qingdao, China covering more than 60,000 square metres on 21 buildings at a shopping street in Qingdao’s Taidong commercial district.

Taidong consists mostly of older (pre-70s) and very old (German Colonial) architecture and urban layouts.

The murals were completed in June 2008 in conjunction with the Beijing Olympics, where Qingdao was the venue for sailing events.

However, strikingly painted murals such as these requires constant maintanence as anything lack of it would lead to murals faded and covered in grime.
