Dined at Ying Ker Lou Restaurant at Sunway Pyramid Shopping Mall, which claimed to serve authentic Hakka cuisine. It was located at the Marrakesh Floor.
Descent restaurant with nice ambience. The checker wall is the entrance for kitchen. What an entrance!
A pot of Jasmine Tea @ RM4.00. I've always like Jasmine Tea, with a hint of sweet fragrant.
Hakka Minced Pork Bantiao @ RM12.90. The noodles is similar to home-made Pan Mee (Board Noodles), but it's very springy. The minced pork was tasteful and goes very well with the noodles. The pork ball was flavourful and well-marinated.
Hakka Bamboo Shoot Dumplings @ RM7.00. This is similar to the one i had at Tien Kee Restaurant in Subang Jaya. Didn’t know about this dish despite me being a Hakka descendant. Not sure if it’s authentic Hakka food, but it tasted well and better than the one in Subang Jaya.
You can see that the Hakka Bamboo Shoot Dumplings was filled with bamboo shoot and minced pork. The outer layer was so soft yet it didn't break into two when i picked it up with my chopsticks. Truly amazing!
Loved the teapot.
In conclusion, food was good, service was proper (the waitress helped me to pour the tea twice, which was a good sign) and a selection of nice variety. However, the price is a bit expensive.
