Went to Black Canyon Coffee Restaurant last Sunday. It is located at the Ground Floor of The Summit Shopping Complex in Subang.
The restaurant is originated from Thailand and is famous for its gourmet coffee which claimed to use 100% fresh coffee beans imported from around the world, as well as those grown in Thailand under Royal patronage.
The restaurant has a great ambiance with cozy dining environment. The atmosphere here is superb, with a colour scheme that's very warm and relaxing. I especially liked the settings in dark brown colour as it's simply elegant.
The servers will clean the table with Citronella Oil which can ward off insects especially flies. Someone may want to learn a thing or two from them.
The restaurant serves an extensive food menu. There is a wide selection of coffee from plain to exotic. There is also a wide variety of food to choose from, which combines Western dishes with Eastern favorites.
Both my friend and i ordered Black Canyon Iced Coffee @ RM7.95. The milk is mixed with the old "Black Devil" (coffee powder) and poured into glasses over crushed ice. It is claimed to be the best iced coffee you'll ever taste.
However, i beg to differ. Personally, i just thought that it taste similar to Nescafe. As an avid coffee enthusiast, it did disappointed me a little as i'm hoping for something different.
My friend ordered Roasted Chicken with Rice & Mixed Vegetables @ RM8.90. It is served with a chicken leg-quarter with vegetable gravy, rice and stir-fried mixed vegetables. However, it doesn't taste as nice as it looks. It taste so so only, nothing to shout about.
I ordered Teriyaki Chicken Steak. This Cream of Chicken Soup is a compliment with any Steak. It was their own cream soup recipe, mixed with diced grilled chicken. It taste average as it lacks in flavour.
Teriyaki Chicken Steak @ RM15.90. It is served with two pieces of grilled boneless chicken thighs with their own teriyaki sauce, mixed vegetables salad, french fries and sliced toast. Nice food presentation. The chicken was juicy and more tender than usual, with a flavourful taste.
Overall, we had a satisfied and wholesome meal. The food was above par and the staffs were friendly and helpful.
I like the fact that the Manager requests feedback from customers directly as he asked us how was the meal and the service. Seems to me that they have, as their goal, to continually improve the quality of the food and the dining experience. An action well praised.
Definitely recommended as one of the to-be-visited restaurants for group of yuppies.
